About Jacob
Jacob concentrates his practice on personal injury, wrongful death, and employment law, bringing courtroom-bred advocacy to the people of the borderland he grew up in.
Jacob is an El Paso native and a proud graduate of Cathedral High School. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning a bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in Business Administration in 2020. On campus he served as President of the Sigma Chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma and as Director of Operations for UT's Interfraternity Council, earning his fraternity's Man of the Year award and the Hyperion Award. Beyond campus, he worked as a Legislative Aide in the Texas House of Representatives during the 86th Legislative Session and as Field Director for a congressional campaign.
He earned his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2023, where the trial courtroom became his natural habitat. He served on the Board of Barristers as its Director of Trial Advocacy, mediated family and bankruptcy matters in the Advanced Dispute Resolution Clinic, and collected a remarkable run of advocacy honors: Mock Trial Champion and Top Oralist, TEX-ABOTA Best Voir Dire, the J. Hadley Edgar Trial Excellence Award, Moot Court Quarterfinalist, ABA Arbitration Regional Semifinalist, and Distinction Awards in Legal Writing and in Cybersecurity Law and Policy.
Jacob is admitted in both Texas and New Mexico, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Texas and the District of New Mexico, so he can follow a case anywhere in the borderland. In 2025 he was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star and one of The National Trial Lawyers' Top 40 Under 40 for civil plaintiff work. He serves his profession through the El Paso Young Lawyers Association, where he joined as a member in 2023, became a board member in 2024, and was named President Elect for 2025, and as a board member of the El Paso Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
Off the clock, Jacob golfs, shoots, fishes, watches sports, and spends time with his loved ones, especially his dogs. He works with clients directly, in English or Spanish, from the first consultation through resolution.
